What to expect from your new puppy
So you’re ready to bring your dog home… Now, what???
Maybe you’ve wanted a dog for ages and now you’re finally able to get one. You own your own home or have a dog-friendly landlord and you’re ready to bring a beautiful dog into your life.
Maybe you purchased your puppy from a breeder or you adopted your puppy or adult dog from your local shelter, and now you’re wondering what to expect when you bring your new dog home.
Watch my video to learn what you should expect from your new dog.
Here are some things you should expect in your first week with your new dog, whether they’re a brand new puppy or an adult dog who is new to you.
Sleeplessness
Destruction
Biting
Toileting all over the place, all the time
Barking, whining, howling
To counterbalance all this mayhem, you can also expect:
Puppy breath, mmmm
Laughter and lots of it. Dogs are hilarious, they live in the moment and have a genuine love of life. They’re very inspiring.
A loyal and loving companion who never judges you and is an excellent listener
Someone who is usually up for snuggles
Someone who greets you like you’re the most amazing person in the world, whether they saw you two minutes or two hours ago (which will give you a boost to your self esteem)
An exercise buddy
An icebreaker - I’ve met loads of amazing people who would probably never have spoken to me if I didn’t have a dog with me. People love bonding over dogs and sharing their puppy-raising horror stories and wins.

Is your adorable bundle of fluff acting like a bit of a maniac at times?
Are they:
· Refusing to sleep in?
